Beatle Bash at Bernie's - February 7, 2004
What a night! Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Fabs
first appearance and the Ed Sullivan Show, we packed Bernie's with 200+ people
- others waited in line outside in the cold! Wow.
We started with a set of '60s classics, ending the
set with some teasers that were on the charts in the weeks surrounding the
Beatles arrival including: "Memphis," "No Particular Place To Go," "Needles
and Pins," "Hippie Hippie Shake," and of course, our national anthem, "Louie
Louie" (which, BTW, was #1 on the NYC WMCA chart a coupe weeks after the Fabs
arrival - go figure!)
The place *was* packed! And note the great flags and photos that Donna
put together. Oh yeah then there were the buttons and coasters that Amy designed
and Donna and Gus and Amy manufactured. Everybody went home with something!
The set list:
- I Saw Her Standing
- There Thank You Girl

Dennis with the famous Ludwig drums. Note giveaway prizes
in basket... |
Vic, looking very much the blues-man, with Bud sign...
but no, it's probably "Psychotic Reaction." |
"Bad To Me" - John looks on... |
Kev with Ric bass for "I Want To Tell You." Note J-160
on stand... |
Stalwart Joe with Hofner bass. |
Dave again. From the harmonica, looks like "Thank You Girl!" |
