Culture Gear
We had finally bought some half-decent gear by the time we chenged our name to Culture.

Dave traded in his trusty Silvertone for a cream '66 Fender Telecaster at Manny's on 48th Street in NYC., and they gave him $50 for the Gibson case it was in. His first "real" guitar, he had to have a Jeff Beck axe! This guitar was later painted in dayglo psychedelic colors in homage to Clapton, George Harrison, etc. Now stripped to natural finish, Dave still has it and uses it regularly with BS5.

The amp that went with the Tele: a Heathkit Dave built from a kit. Sort of like a solid state Fender Twin, it was very loud with it's two 12 inch Jensens. It eventually disintegrated and languished in Dave's shed. There must have been a lot of these built by kids like us, where are they now?

The long-suffering Hagstrom bass. Purchased from Delbarton classmate Mike Milton (thanks Mike!) and *still* used as a BS5 backup. Dennis owned it for a while and it was used on early WKGB recordings.

Kev finally got a real bass amp in this Fender Bassman.

Myke picked up an Ampeg Gemini II like this. It had a wild tremelo and a killer reverb that really nailed that over-the-top sound of "The Last Time" and "It's All Over Now."

Just about every band had one of these great tube Bogen PA amps at some point or another. Dave eventually ended up using at as a guitar amp in between his Heathkit and Vox. I think it got smashed in a Pete Townsend frenzy at some point... What did we know?
