Dave traded in his trusty Silvertone for
a cream '66 Fender Telecaster at Manny's on 48th Street in NYC., and they
gave him $50 for the Gibson case it was in. His first "real" guitar, he
had to have a Jeff Beck axe! This guitar was later painted in dayglo psychedelic
colors in homage to Clapton, George Harrison, etc. Now stripped to natural
finish, Dave still has it and uses it regularly with BS5. |
Heathkit TA-16 "Starmaker" amp that Dave built
from a kit. Sort of like a solid state Fender Twin, it was very loud with
it's two 12 inch Jensens. It eventually disintegrated and languished in Dave's
shed. There must have been a lot of these built by kids like us, where are
they now? |
