Nikita Boone
Nikita Boone was a band that Myke, Vic, Bob and some other
guys (Jay Greenfield, David Angri [aka Butcher]
and Bill Funcheon) had in NJ in the '70s. Their two main venues were Earl's
Grotto in Yardley, PA (aka Charlie and Donna's wedding) and Jay's Stone House
on Route 206 in Byram. And the Parsippany Holiday
Inn. See also the touching story of what could have been... a pre-NB Bruce
gig that changed lives: Springfield Block Party.
Reportedly the tape of NB's historic "Last Waltz" performance at the American
Legion hall in Seaside Heights, (including Arp synthi overdubs by Jay) still
exists...

times really so different? |
Nikita Boone lead guitarist and sometime BS5 jammer, Jay Greenfield, about 1974 (?). Note the white PA speakers

Myke comments: "Of course this is Nikita Boone in its early days. We had
it going, with a road manager (Charlie Cox), and playing the finest synagogues
in Springfield. This is in the basement of one such venue during our pre-stage
preparations. Interesting note: Jay was just recovering from a bout with
an irate boyfriend of a girl (a waitress from Emerson Steakhouses where he
and I were moonlighting) he was, shall we say, servicing. Jay lost.
(l>r): Myke, David "Butcher" Angri, Jay Greenfield, Bill Funcheon, Charlie
Cox. (absent: Vic). Of course this is pre-Bob NB, so we hadn't really found
ourselves. |
